Instruments and hygeine

All of our instruments are thoroughly cleaned and quarantined after hire and before going out on hire.

Deliveries

We are maintaining social distancing when delivering instruments and when setting up new hires.

This involves all instruments having been quarantined before hire, and wearing protective gloves used along with hand sanitizer and facemasks as necessary.

Drop-in Service

Unfortunately, for the time being, we are unable to open at the Fleetville Community Centre in St Albans on Saturday mornings.

We have increased the availability of our mobile service to take this into account.

How to return an instrument

If you would normally have come to the Fleetville Community Centre to return instruments to us, you can now return instruments to our mailing address.

It is very important that you put your details on a note inside the case before returning it, and email us at shop@britanniamusicshop.co.uk once it has been returned

You can return instruments to Mailboxes Etc. 17 Holywell Hill, St Albans, AL1 1DT being sure to let the staff know that it is for Britannia Music Shop.

If you have been Shielding

If you have been shielding, please let us know beforehand so that we can take any further necessary measures before coming out to you.

This may include asking you to quarantine instruments for a further 72 hours after delivery as, although instruments won't have been played by us after we have quarantined them, we may still have needed to handle them.

Instrument Repairs

Where possible, we are repairing instruments as we always have done, however, woodwind and brass instruments are not being play tested by us (unless we are keeping hold of the instrument to repair, and have the time to quarantine afterwards).

Therefore, it would be useful to have the player of the instrument available when we repair so that it can be tested by the player to ensure that it plays as it should.
